I was in the habit of buying gifts for all my staff each time I go on vacation, those working directly with me and those in my factory as long as you are a permanent staff. I did this as a routine every year. The most difficult I ever did was trying to buy shoes and sandals. It was very difficult outside of the cost. I had to get the measurement of each staff, my wife providing assistance, shopping online in addition to what we could get from the different malls, checking and converting the sizes from the UK to the USA. It gave us sleepless nights, I felt it was too much of a stress, but since I had already embarked on it, I couldn't go back. Sometimes we had to call to reconfirm. My wife did a good job and ensured no one was missed out. Of course, it resulted in extra luggage which I had to pay for. I got back to Nigeria, wrapped each one, marked for each recipient in nice bags, and sent for distributions. To my amazement, some of these staff collected their gifts and never sent me an acknowledgment. I took notice, and that was the end of any jamboree staff gifts when I go on vacation. I pick a few I love their attitudes around me and buy them what I love and leave the rest out. A lot of people don't know why they aren't making progress in life, your inability to appreciate little kindness is your albatross. Saying thank you when someone has shown you some kindness is a virtue you must develop. Anytime my steward brings food to my table, I say thank you. When he gets me a glass of water, I say thank you. When I go for lunch at a restaurant and the server brings the food, I say thank you. When I’m chauffeur driven and we get home, I say thank you to my driver. There are a lot of extremely arrogant but very poor people around. A lot have gone drowning in the rivers of life simply because of a poor attitude. Gratitude is a great virtue, please cultivate it. Saying thank you for kindness won't kill you. Please, stop being an ingrate, it could be the reason why you aren’t making progress in life.
